Dentistry in Mexico seems to be becoming more and more popular recently. I have noticed several of my friends, and even some of my relatives have taken the plunge in Mexico. I wonder if this has something to do with the economy and the recession? I think a lack of jobs and major cuts of employee insurance plans, especially dental plans which were never very good, is causing people to seek out cheaper dentistry. It is a testament to just how bad our economy is that people are eager to head south of the border to save money even with all the negative news reports coming out of Mexico at the moment. People must really be strapped for cash.

I finally convinced one of my good friends to head to Mexico to have her dental repairs. She had been putting them off for many years because of embarrassment and financial issues. I’m glad she finally got this taken care of, she really needed to address it. I decided to cross the border with her so that she wouldn’t be afraid. I have to say, I’m getting used to going to Mexico now, it’s actually kind of fun and adventurous. The only part that I am sick of is crossing back into America – it takes several hours now because they line is so long!

I’m happy to report that I had a full dental restoration that turned out fantastic. My dentist – Ms Emelda – was incredible. She kept me informed every step of the process, and was always concerned for my comfort and opinion. I was able to have a real say in my treatment, which made all the difference for me. At the end of the whole process, I felt better than I feel when leaving my old dentist in America.

I decided to start up this web blog to help people find decent dental work in Mexico. I have had extensive work done as a dental tourist, and I had many ups and downs. There were times when I was completely discouraged, but I eventually stuck with it, and now I love my teeth, and I saved tens of thousands of dollars. I wanted to post my story online so I could help guide others through the process that may be having some anxiety. I will try to update it as much as possible, as I continue to return to Mexico for followups, checkups, and cleanings.
